Welcome to 2 Society Studios
January 23, 2022 - I have decided to set a standard equation for pricing my paintings. From now on I will be multiplying the Square Inches by $2 for the base price. For smaller paintings that are framed, a set $100 fee will be added and for framed paintings above 500 square inches, a $200 fee will be added. No more gut instinct pricing as that changes with how I view a painting which is often tainted by things in my life at the time or the length of time it took me to finish the piece. As for my summation of last year, I finished 29 pieces, surpassing 2020. I don't think I will hit that this year as the first part of the year has been very slow due to me being hit with COVID. It has only been a bit of a slight discomfort, mostly in my nose, but the haze on my concentration hit pretty hard. I do have a few paintings from 2021 up, but there will be many more to come. Check them out in the Original Art page. -Brian January 18, 2021 - I know it is cliche to say what a year 2020 was but I'm going to say it anyway. However, I am going to say it with a bit of positivity. I produced a total of 27 paintings in 2020, surpassing 2019 as my most productive year since college. Maybe it was the added stress from the Pandemic. Maybe it was just my soul sucking commute vanishing. I don't know. I just felt strong when I was in the studio. 2021 is looking like I might already be trying to out-do 2020 as I have already finished 3 paintings. By this point in 2020, I had finished 1. I am still on my quest for 500 followers somewhere, be it Instagram, Facebook, or Twitch. It kind of hurts it still hasn't happened. In other news, the Sale on my Paintings has ended because I said so. Three months was long enough without results, so back up they went. I have added some new work though. 5 new pieces from late 2020 were added. I suspect I should have another 5 pieces up shortly. Check them out in the Original Art page. -Brian October 12, 2020 - ALL MY PAINTINGS ARE ON SALE!!! I've taken 30% off of all the Paintings I currently have up for sale. I have also reduced the price of the Posters I sell direct from $12 down to $10, so now is a good time to pick up an original piece of artwork or one of the limited edition posters. Check them both out in the Original Art page -Brian
May 27, 2020 - Lots of redesign changes happening on the site. I want to make the page a little sleaker and clear out a lot of the no longer relevant stuff. I am sorry to say that Bungo's and Dawn's bios will be leaving the page, but we haven't really collaborated in years. It will be a while for all the pages to reflect the changes though, as there is a lot to do. I have updated my Original Art for Sale with another 5 pieces. The New Twitch stream page is running in case people want to watch the stream through here for whatever reason. I am still aiming to get to 500 followers on either Instagram or Facebook this year but haven't really moved much on either page. So please be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch. -Brian
March 18, 2020 - Quarantine thanks to the Coronavirus has allowed me an opportunity to update the site. Actually, this was going to happen this week regardless as I had taken off of work for some R&R. It just so happened to coincide with the quarantine. If anything, Quarantine has pushed this back since it was supposed to be just me at home but the wife and kids now have been here too. Still, I have updated my Original Art for Sale with another 5 pieces. I am still aiming to get to 500 followers on either Instagram or Facebook this year but haven't really moved much on either page. So please be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch. -Brian
February 9, 2020 - The year has starter off a bit rough. For those that watch me on Twitch, You've seen me arguing with a painting of some White-Faced Whistling Ducks for the last 15 streams. I don't know why they were such a struggle. But on the good news front, my grandson, Andy, is stinking adorable and getting bigger every day. Also, I have FINALLY figured out how to stop the clip of me on Pierre Robert's show from autoplaying on the Appearances page. Only took about 11 years. On top of that, I corrected all the backgrounds on every page on this site so that it all matches. I have also updated my Original Art for Sale with 5 new pieces. Be sure to follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitch. I would like to get to 500 followers on either Instagram or Facebook this year. About halfway there on each. -Brian
October 13, 2019 - I have updated the Original Art page with some of the more recent paintings. I've added the Rosa Rugosas, the Yellow Finch, and my Autumnal Abstraction.I still have posters for sale of the "Stairs at Bushkill Falls" and "View of Tulips" for $12 each (shipping is included in that). You can see the ordering buttons below here. My "Trees by I-95 with Stormclouds" will be on display at the Imperfect Gallery in Germantown, PA until October 26th, so be sure to check it out if you can. Then in November, my "Bridge at Treweryn Farm Trail" will be part of the Philadelphia Stories 15th anniversary show in Cheltenham starting on November 16th. Sometime before that show, my Grandson, Andy, should be arriving, so there is a lot happening at the end of the year. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram and Twitch to keep up to date. -Brian
August 20, 2019 - I have more posters available for sale. This time they are of my Stairs at Bushkill Falls. Posters are 12" x 18" and are $12 each. You can order by clicking the button below. The piece is also now viewable in the Split Rock review. You can check it out here. As always, I have my Original Art for Sale. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Twitch -Brian
July 1, 2019 - Again, I've done a spectacular job staying on top of things. I have added a few new paintings to the Original Art for Sale. I have completed 9 paintings so far this year but 4 of them will seem odd until I complete the series they are a part of. I suspect by the time I am finished, there will be 7 or 8 of these paintings, all involving shoes. Not the most popular of subjects, but I have good reason behind the series. I continue to look for places to show my work, but in the meantime, you can find my work in the current issue of Philadelphia Stories magazine and I will have 2 pieces in the September issue of the Split Rock Review. Otherwise, I am still working on trying to find my place in the wilds of Instagram and Twitch -Brian
January 9, 2019 - So much for my keeping on top of the site... Five months is keeping on top, right? In my defense, I have been working like crazy everywhere else. I finished a total of 15 paintings last year, 3 more than my original goal. I've been trying, key word there, to build up a following on Instagram and Twitch. I have also been digging around for shows and what not. Anyhow, I have finally got around to updating the Original Art for Sale. I have added 3 paintings. One is a rather old piece I feel silly about not having up here previously. The other two are newer pieces. One of these newer pieces, though, relates to this older piece ("The Harvest"), my "View of Tulips", and my "Horse Shed in Winter". With this newer piece, "Oceanview in Wildwood", I have finally completed my Four Seasons series. Each Piece is up for sale at $1250 individually, but I will offer them up as a complete set for $4000. I still have to add that link in the Original Art page so please be patient. If you are interested, please email me. Finally, I will be showing with the Philly Art Collective this weekend at one of their Saturday Pop-up Shows. On January 12th, from 6 pm to 9pm, my work will be on display at 253 N. 3rd St in Philadelphia. It is $10 at the door, but there is free Wine, music, and whatnot. So, if you are in the area, come out and support yours truly. I will have the posters from my previous post below for sale for $10 each (since I don't have to pay shipping, I can cut the price). Also, my Four Seasons series, "The Water Carrier (after Daumier), and my "Still Life with various Fruits" will be on display for sale. I hope to see you there. -Brian
August 31, 2018 - Society6.com's pricing has been going way up and I realize that is another hinderance to the already existing issues I have selling prints. So I am trying something a little different. I have now 50 posters of my View of Tulips. These are 12"x18" posters. I am selling these for $12 each at the button below. BUT WAIT!!! THERE'S MORE!!!! Since these are the first run of these posters and to make them feel special for being so, I will be signing them, numbering them, and marking them specifically as the First Run. I will also include a certificate of authenticity. I am not going to sugar coat it. I gotta sell all these. This money will go directly to new supplies and equipment needed to improve my Twitch Streams. And I really don't have the room to hold stock here. But if these sell well, I can order more and maybe get some of other paintings. Just click the link to order these new Posters. If you want to see what they look like, check out the video over on Facebook and forgive my bad mood... All my tech went to hell that night.
August 4, 2018 - I have updated the Original Art Page once more with three more paintings. I added my painting of the Bridge of Treweryn Farm Trail, my painting of Boats on Boston Harbor and the Study of Daumier's Water Carrier that I had done. Don't forget my Twitch Schedule is, at least until the Walking Dead returns, will be: Sunday (7:30pm - 10pm), Monday (9pm - 10:30pm), Wednesday (8:15pm - 10:30pm), and Thursday (8:15pm - 10:30pm). June 30, 2018 - I am definitely trying to stay on top of this site. I have added 3 more paintings under the Original Art Page. I have also updated my Twitch Scheduled since the show my wife and I watched on Sunday nights is now over. My schedule until the Walking Dead returns will be: Sunday (7:30pm - 10pm), Monday (9pm - 10:30pm), Wednesday (8:15pm - 10:30pm), and Thursday (8:15pm - 10:30pm). This is with the exception of the week between July 7th through the 14th. I'm away on vacation that week so I don't think I will be streaming. I might try to upload some drawing videos though. We will see. My Patreon is now live with its Tiers all set up. So if you can support even a few bucks, it would be much appreciated. -Brian
June 23, 2018 - ALMOST 7 AND A HALF YEARS?!?!? I cannot believe it has been that long since I updated this website. Dreamweaver is just so thick to me that I was just terrifed of it .I won't lie, I've pretty much given up on the comics dream and am now focussing on my Painting. I have added a few paintings (My "View of Tulips" is below) up for sale over on the Original Art page here. You can keep up to date on things over on Facebook via my page over there. I also regularly stream via Twitch. I finally joined Twitter too. So those are all updated in the Links section. If you wouldn't mind, please follow me on these various platforms. You can also always hit me up via briancoates@2sscomics.com. The Store has also been updated to my society6 page with prints and mugs and clocks and all sorts of goodies with my Paintings printed on it. I will be adding more paintings as the weeks go by. -Brian
January 28, 2011 - Been very busy since the end of Christmas. I had some things that carried over, did a couple of new commissions and submitted a design to a contest for something locally (Will give more once I know more). I also did a couple of smaller, "more Simple" sketches I am going to put up for sale... I am thinking $6 for them... They'll be mostly head sketches of well known characters, maybe a few LXSG ones too... Check them out under the Original Art link... Way at the Bottom... If these do well, expect to see more. And if you have a character in mind you'd like me to do, hit me up at briancoates@2sscomics.com -Brian
January 2, 2011 - Happy New Year everyone!!!! Had a little flub in my programming that had put one of my pieces for sale as my Home Page. But I was so busy with Commissions that I had no time to correct it. Well, now that the Holidays are over, I'm still really busy but I have a few extra minutes a day... I hope for a lot this year. I plan on hitting more Conventions andm aking some good contacts. I also hope to start on the LXSG Issue 3 and finish it too... Don't know when I'll get that time but I am gonna find it. So keep checking back for updates. -Brian |
